The National Federation of Women’s Institutes (NFWI)
Take this opportunity to personally meet some of the members of the NFWI. They will be at the West Hall Corridor ready to greet you and show you some of the items they have brought from their fascinating WI archive collection.
Buckinghamshire will be represented by their WI Federation at the Fair. Come and meet them in the West Hall Corridor where they will be showcasing some items from their archive including silver cups, copper urn and samplers of the County’s WI groups.
Middlesex Federation will be displaying a wall hanging piece depicting the WI groups in their Federation in 1994 made up of different squares each of them completed. Alongside this piece of art the Middlesex Federation will also bring a linen tablecloth from Botany Bay WI – Enfield which is no longer in existence. This was made by members depicting the role women played during the war, each side shows the four freedoms fought for during. They also have a framed poster of 1915 Formation of Women Institutes – A busy centre in War Time by Joan Charlton.
